Woven Bags & Flexo Printing

This group covers three different jobs: finished open-mouth PP woven bags, a roll-fed flexo press that prints woven fabric before it is cut and sewn, and a narrow-web press for labels and film. Pick by what you print and how many bags or meters you need per day.

Finished PP woven bags

A woven PP sack is made from flat polypropylene tape woven into fabric, so it is strong for its weight and does not rot. Our open-mouth sewn-bottom bags use fabric of about 50–120 g/m², tape of about 650–1,200 denier, and carry up to 4-color flexo print. Options include a polyethylene liner, BOPP lamination for a glossy printed face, UV stabilization for outdoor storage, and micro-perforation so filled bags vent air and stack well.

Sizing is where most orders go wrong. The same 50 kg of rice, flour and compound feed occupy very different volumes, so the bag cannot be picked from weight alone. Send a product sample and we work back from bulk density. If your fill line is automatic, say so, because mouth stiffness and edge finish then matter. Valve, block-bottom and bulk bags are separate types and are quoted separately.

Roll-fed press for woven fabric

If you convert your own bags, a roll-fed press prints the fabric before cutting and sewing. Our MM-WFX takes rolls up to 1,200 mm in diameter and 750 mm wide, prints up to 650 mm, and runs 50–100 m/min nominal. Total power is 33–34 kW and weight about 3,900–4,500 kg depending on the version, so check the floor and the three-phase supply. Hot-air dryers sit after each color; register on woven fabric is typically about ±1–2 mm, which is a property of the fabric, not a fault.

A rough output check: at an 800 mm repeat and 80 m/min, theoretical output is about 100 repeats a minute. Real output is lower after roll changes, plate changes and ink adjustment, so plan from a shift figure, not from the nameplate. Stack-type presses with more decks exist on the market (one maker lists 4 to 10 decks at 120 m/min), but they are a different, larger machine class.

Narrow-web press for labels and film

Labels, film and cartons need fine register and thin substrates. The MM-NLF is modular, 2–10 colors, with anilox from about 200–1,200 lines per inch and register about ±0.1 mm. IR, UV or LED UV drying is chosen by material. Add die-cutting, foil, lamination or inspection modules as the job requires; choose the base frame for the growth you expect, because adding units later depends on it.

What to send for a quote

  • Bags: product, filled weight, bag size, fabric weight, artwork, colors, liner or coating, quantity
  • Fabric press: fabric width and weight, repeat length, colors, target output, ink type, voltage and frequency
  • Label press: products, materials and thickness, web width, colors, drying type, converting stations

Bag users such as feed and grain businesses will find related machines in the Agriculture and Livestock range, and the parent category is Industrial Manufacturing.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy printed bags or a printing machine?

Buy bags if your volume is modest or your artwork changes often. A printing machine pays off when you convert fabric into bags regularly and want control over print and lead time.

What bag size do I need for 50 kg?

It depends on bulk density as much as weight. Rice and fertilizer fill a smaller bag than flour or feed at the same weight. Send a sample and the filled weight.

Can one flexo press print woven fabric and labels?

No. Woven fabric needs a wide press with coarse anilox rolls and hot-air drying. Label stock needs a narrow web, fine anilox, tight register and often UV drying.

How many colors do I need?

Most grain and fertilizer bags run in 2–4 colors. Photographic artwork or fine type pushes you toward 5–6 colors on fabric. Labels often use 4–8.

Which ink is used on woven bags?

Water-based or solvent-based flexo inks are both used. Local environmental rules and your supplier access often decide it.
