Overview

From loose residue to fuel

Rice husk, straw and sawdust are bulky and costly to move. A ring die pellet mill compresses them into dense pellets that burn evenly, store easily and ship at a fraction of the volume. This mill is built for continuous industrial work rather than occasional use.

A range, not one machine

The mill is offered in models from 500 kg/h up to 5,000 kg/h, driven by motors from 55 kW to 350 kW. The model is chosen from your daily volume.

Material preparation

Pellet quality depends on the feed. The ideal moisture is 12-15%, and the material has to be crushed to a suitable size before pressing. A complete biomass plant therefore usually includes a hammer mill, a dryer, the pellet mill, a cooler and a screen. We can supply the single mill or the whole line.

Gear drive and wear parts

The gear drive suits the high torque of biomass pressing. The ring die and rollers are the wear parts; for abrasive material such as rice husk we recommend a spare set from day one.

Operating costs and uptime

On a biomass line, power and die wear drive the cost per tonne. Steady feeding at the right moisture lowers both. We advise on die compression ratio for your material, on a lubrication routine for the gearbox, and on a spare-part list for the first year, so planned stops are short and the mill returns to work quickly after each die change.

Adapting to your market

Details such as color, accessories and spare-parts packages can be adjusted to your market and local conditions.

How to size an industrial biomass pellet mill

This mill covers 500-5,000 kg/h with motors from 55 to 350 kW, so the choice depends mainly on daily feedstock supply and pellet demand. Rice husk, straw and grass wear dies faster than clean wood sawdust, and moisture should sit at 12-15% for stable pelleting.

The vertical ring die pellet mill (MM-VRD90A) is a single-size model at 90 kW and 1,200-1,500 kg/h that suits farms and small plants with sawdust. The 15 kW feed pellet mill (MM-RDP15A) is for livestock feed, not fuel. Our flat-die feed machines suit animal feed only.

A full biomass line also needs a hammer mill, dryer, cooler and storage, which are part of the plant design. Count the feedstock tons per day, the hours you run and the pellet diameter your buyers want. Ring die and rollers are consumable parts, so budget for spare sets and a die-changing method. Send us your raw material and daily volume.

Frequently asked questions

Can the mill press rice husk?

Yes, rice husk is one of the listed materials. It is abrasive, so die and roller life is shorter than with soft wood, and we advise stocking spares.

What moisture does the material need?

The ideal range is 12-15%. Wetter material needs drying first, and we can include a dryer in the line.

How do I choose between models?

Choose by hourly output and material. Hourly output and material then decide the motor power and die configuration.

How do I choose between 500 and 5,000 kg/h?

Work out the tons of dry feedstock you can supply each day, divide by working hours, then add a margin. We recommend the motor size and a spare die plan.
