15 kW Ring Die Feed Pellet Mill

A gear-driven ring die pellet mill that presses ground forage and feed meal into 6-12 mm pellets. Built for feed workshops and livestock farms that want to make their own pellets.

Overview

How it works

Ground material is fed between the rollers and the ring die. The rollers press it through the die holes and a cutter trims the strands into pellets of 6-12 mm. A gear drive carries the 15 kW motor power to the die, which suits dense, abrasive material better than a belt drive.

Where it fits

This is a mid-size mill. At 800 kg and about 2.8 m long it fits a small feed workshop or a large farm shed without special foundations. It is a good match when a farm or cooperative wants to turn its own alfalfa, grass or forage meal into pellets that are easier to store, ship and feed than loose meal.

Output

Output depends on the material, its moisture, the die hole size and the compression ratio, so no single tonnage is published here.

Wear parts

The ring die and the rollers wear first. We recommend ordering a spare die and a roller set with the machine so a worn die never stops the line. Die hole size and compression ratio are chosen for your raw material.

Running it day to day

Feed the mill at a steady rate and keep the material free of stones and metal, which damage the die. Let the first pellets run back into the hopper until the die is hot and the pellets hold together. After each shift, clean the die holes and check roller gap. Our team can send an operating checklist with the machine, so a new operator reaches steady output in the first days.

Specification and packing

A drawing and a written specification are available for this model, with the figures, the packing plan and the suggested spare parts, so you can compare it with other options on equal terms.

Compared with the flat-die feed machines and other mills

This 15 kW ring die pellet mill weighs 800 kg and runs on a gear drive, which makes it a step above the 90 kg flat-die machines (MM-FPL200A and MM-AFP200A). The ring die distributes load across several rollers, so it presses harder and handles longer daily runs. It suits feed workshops and livestock farms that make feed every day.

The flat-die machines are lighter and cheaper but have lower output and heavier die wear in continuous use. The industrial biomass mill (MM-BPM500A) and vertical ring die mill (MM-VRD90A) are meant for fuel pellets from sawdust and agricultural waste at far higher power, and not for feed. The extruder line (MM-FXL120A) is for floating fish feed.

Check your power supply, because a 15 kW motor needs three-phase power. The ring die and rollers are wear parts, so plan spares. A conditioner and cooler give better pellet quality. Feed formula and pellet size set the die.

Frequently asked questions

What material can this mill press?

It is set up for ground forage such as alfalfa and grass and for feed meal. The die is matched to your material.

Do I need to pre-dry the material?

Pellet mills work best when moisture is in a controlled range. The right range depends on the material, and drying or conditioning may be needed.

Can you ship spare dies and rollers with the machine?

Yes. Ring dies and rollers are the main wear parts, and we pack spare sets in the same shipment on request.

Is steam needed?

Steam or water conditioning improves pellet quality and die life, especially for livestock feed. Small farms can start with water conditioning and add steam later.
