Overview

What the line does

The line cooks and shapes a flour-based mix in an extruder, then cuts it at the die. The same technology makes floating fish feed, dry pet food and puffed corn snacks. What changes between them is the screw design, die, cutter and the downstream dryer and coating equipment.

Sizing by output

The line covers an output range of 120-250 kg/h and a motor range of 22-132 kW. These are series ranges, not one fixed rating. We size the extruder, feeder, conditioner and dryer around the product you want to make and the hourly output you need.

Scope

The line can be supplied as an extruder only, or as a full line with mixer, dryer, flavor coater and cooling, built around the product you make.

Power and heating

The electrical system can be built for 380, 220 or 440 V, 3 phase, at 50 or 60 Hz. Heating can be electric, or run on steam, gas or diesel where your site has them.

After the extruder

Extruded product leaves the die wet and soft. Floating fish feed and pet food then need a dryer and a cooler, and often a coating drum for oil or flavor. Snacks go to a seasoning drum instead. We list these downstream machines separately in the quote so you can see exactly what is included and what is not, and add them in stages if you prefer to start small.

How the extruder line differs from pellet mills

This is an extruder, not a pellet mill. It cooks the mix under pressure and heat, so the feed puffs up, floats and holds shape in water. Output ranges from 120 to 250 kg/h with 22-132 kW, so it covers small fish farms up to commercial lines. Stainless steel contact parts keep the food stream clean.

Our flat-die feed pellet machines (MM-FPL200A and MM-AFP200A) press feed without cooking and suit poultry, pig and cattle rations. The ring-die feed mill (MM-RDP15A) is for bulk livestock feed. The biomass mills do not suit food use.

Choose the extruder when you need floating fish feed, pet food or puffed snacks. The product depends on formula: starch content, fat and moisture decide expansion. A dryer and oil coater are normally needed after extrusion. Product, size and daily output decide the screw, die and heating method.
