Overview

Vertical ring die design

In a vertical ring die mill the die sits upright and material drops by gravity into the pressing zone. This layout feeds evenly, keeps the machine stable under steady loads, is easy to reach for die changes, and is often chosen for sawdust and similar light materials. The 90 kW main drive and a 2.2 kW auxiliary drive handle pressing and feeding. It is built for wood sawdust and agricultural waste on a farm or small plant.

What it can make

Pellet diameter can be set from 4 to 12 mm by changing the die. At 1,200-1,500 kg/h, one mill supplies a small plant or a farm that wants fuel pellets for its own boilers or for local sale.

Planning the site

At 5,800 kg and 2.6 m long, the mill needs a level concrete base and a loader or crane for unloading. Material should be crushed and dried before it reaches the mill; a hammer mill and dryer sized to the same output complete the line.

Operating notes

Keep the feed even and the material free of metal. Check the die and rollers at regular intervals, since wear shows first in falling output and loose pellets. Because the die is upright, changing it is a short job for two people with a hoist. We supply a maintenance schedule and a recommended list of wear parts with the machine.

Compared with our other pellet mills

This is a fixed-rating mill: one motor size and one output band. The industrial biomass pellet mill (MM-BPM500A) is gear-driven and offered across 500-5,000 kg/h and 55-350 kW with a horizontal die, which gives more size options if you need a wider range of capacities but needs matching to your volume. The 15 kW ring die mill (MM-RDP15A) is a feed mill with far lower output. The flat-die machines and our feed pellet mills are for animal feed.

Choose the vertical mill for one clear capacity band. Plan about 1.3 to 1.5 tons of sawdust supply per hour, dried to 12-15% moisture. Feedstock and daily tonnage decide the layout.
