Overview
What it is
A containerized slaughter unit puts the main steps of animal slaughter and basic meat processing inside modified shipping containers. The units are built in our factory, tested, and shipped to site. On arrival they are placed on a prepared base and connected to water, power and drainage. This shortens construction time compared with a masonry slaughterhouse.
Layout principle
Good slaughter hygiene depends on separating dirty and clean operations. The unit is laid out with a dirty zone for receiving and bleeding, a clean zone for dressing and inspection, a hygiene area for staff, and, if required, a chilling room. Each project has its own layout, so the plan we propose depends on your species, daily number of animals and the rules in your country.
No fixed model
We do not offer a single standard size. Capacity, container count, equipment list, and whether a cold room is included are set by the project design and the quotation. This keeps the design matched to your needs instead of forcing a standard catalog item.
Rules and services you must plan for
Slaughter facilities are regulated. Meat inspection, animal welfare, waste water and by-product handling, cold storage and road transport all need to be addressed in the local rules. We help our customers align the design with these rules, but approvals remain with your authorities.
What the design depends on
- Animal species and number per day
- Local slaughter, inspection and animal welfare requirements
- Container size and number of units
- Chilling or freezing needs
- Waste water treatment and by-product handling
- Power, water and drainage at the site
Installation and training
We provide layout drawings, build and test the units, and prepare them for shipping. Our engineers can support installation and training.
Slaughter where the animals are
A containerized slaughter unit brings a clean processing area to rural markets, farms and temporary sites. The unit is split into a dirty zone for receiving and bleeding, a clean zone for processing and a hygiene area, with an optional chilling room. It is transportable and connects to water, power and a drain.
Compared with a fixed abattoir, it is quicker to install and can be moved, but it handles fewer animals per day. Throughput depends on the rail layout and on the species. Small ruminants go through quickly, and cattle need larger rails and more space for hides.
Plan for clean water, a way to remove blood and waste, and a place to chill the carcasses. Local rules for slaughter and inspection also apply. Animal types, numbers per day and site conditions decide the layout.

Frequently asked questions
What capacity does the unit have?
Capacity depends on species and layout, so there is no single figure; the unit is proposed from your animals per day.
Does the unit include a cold room?
A chilling area can be included as an option. Whether it is needed depends on your sales and transport plan.
What do I need to prepare on site?
You need a level base, water supply, power, drainage and a waste water solution. We send a site requirements sheet with the quotation.
Can it run without mains power?
Yes, with a generator set sized for the unit and chiller.
