Overview

How it works

Feed material enters through a hopper and a feeder, and passes into an impact crusher, where fast-spinning blow bars throw the rock against breaker plates. The crushed material goes to a screen, which splits it into sized products and returns oversize to the crusher in a closed circuit. Separation devices can remove light material and metal. All of this is mounted on a crawler chassis that moves itself on site.

Reference configuration

The configuration we use as our reference has a 250 kW impact crusher drive, a double-deck screen of 5 x 14 ft and a 430 kW generator set mounted on the plant. Screen decks, power source and transport method can differ by version. The final configuration is written into the quotation and may differ from the reference one.

Where it is used

Impact crushers give a good particle shape and high reduction ratio on softer, less abrasive materials. They are widely used to recycle concrete and asphalt, and to produce aggregate from limestone. Combining crusher and screen on one chassis lets a small team produce graded product on a demolition site or in a quarry.

Options to specify

  • Feed type and the share of reinforcing steel or contamination
  • Product sizes and number of screen decks
  • Closed circuit return conveyor
  • Magnetic separator and wind separation for light material
  • Onboard generator or external power connection

Capacity and commissioning

Capacity and screen performance depend on your feed and target sizes, so we do not quote a fixed output without a project review. Our engineers help with commissioning and operator training.

Why the screen matters more than the crusher

On this machine, the integrated screen is what separates it from a crusher-only unit. With crushing, screening and separation on one chassis, oversize returns to the crusher and spec material goes straight to the pile, so one operator can close the circuit. A crusher with no screen would need a second machine and a loader moving material between them. Compared with our crawler jaw plant, this one gives you a finished product on its own; the jaw plant gives you a primary crush that normally needs more stages. Compared with our standalone screening plant, it crushes as well as grades. Choose it for recycling concrete and aggregate on small to mid-size jobs where one machine has to do everything. Operators should feed the hopper steadily and keep the screen free of damp fines, since a choked screen cuts output more than any crusher setting. Wear parts such as blow bars and aprons are replaced as a set.

Frequently asked questions

Is the reference configuration fixed?

No. It is the setup we use as a reference. Crusher size, screen decks and power can be changed to suit your material and output.

Can it process asphalt?

Yes, impact plants are commonly used for asphalt recycling. Settings and options depend on the material temperature and mix.

Can it run without an onboard generator?

Where site power is available an external connection can be used. This depends on the version.

Can it handle concrete with rebar?

Yes, most impact plants take concrete demolition feed, and a magnetic separator is normally fitted to remove steel.
