Overview

Light for night work

A light tower puts a bright, even light high above a work area. This model has a 7 m mast and four 350 W LED lamps, which lights a wide area from a single point. LED lamps use far less power than metal-halide lamps, so one diesel tank runs the tower for longer.

The generator behind the lamps

A diesel generator inside the base powers the lamps. It is water-cooled, runs at 1800 RPM, starts from a 12 V battery and supplies 220 V. Because the generator has spare capacity beyond the lamps, a socket can run small tools or a pump.

Mobile

The tower weighs about 795 kg and is made to be towed or moved by forklift. The mast lowers for transport and raises on the job. Trailer details, such as axle, brakes and tow hitch, can be matched to your tow vehicle and local rules.

Why choose it

It suits construction crews and rental fleets who need a self-contained light that does not depend on a grid. For general power as well as light, a standard generator set may be better.

Options

Mast type (manual or hydraulic), trailer and tow hitch, lamp aim, fuel tank size, color and logo can be specified. The tower is tested in our factory and shipped in a container.

Light tower or generator: which do you need?

A light tower is a generator with a mast and lamps already attached, so it solves a different problem than our other diesel sets. If your goal is lighting a work area at night, a tower is quicker to deploy than building a pole line and a separate generator. If your goal is to power machines, a conventional generator is the better buy, even though the tower has a spare socket.

At 1.4 kW of lamp load, the generator in this tower runs lightly and fuel consumption is low, which is why a single tank can last several nights. LED lamps also start instantly and tolerate vibration far better than metal halide, so there is no warm-up delay after a stop. Compared with the 10 kVA set, which is meant for building backup, the tower is lighter, sits on a small chassis and is designed to be moved by one vehicle. Light spread from a 7 m mast is wide but not unlimited; for a large quarry face, two towers with overlapping beams give more even coverage.
