10 kVA Super Silent Diesel Generator with ATS

Overview

For the load you cannot lose

A 10 kVA set is right for a home, shop or small office. When the mains fails, the automatic start brings the generator up and, with an automatic transfer switch, the load moves across by itself. Nobody has to be there.

Protections

Overload protection and low oil shutdown guard the engine. Automatic voltage regulation keeps the output steady when the load changes, which protects computers and appliances. An efficiency of 95 percent is listed for the generator end.

Noise

The super silent type with a soundproof canopy is aimed at residential use. A tight enclosure muffles engine noise, and that is what makes it suitable for villas and shops in busy streets.

Voltage, speed and weight

Voltages of 110 V, 220 V, 380 V and 400 V are listed with 1500 or 1800 RPM, so the same product serves 50 Hz and 60 Hz markets. The listed weight is 800 kg, which is high for this size, and it includes the canopy and fuel tank.

Options

ATS, remote monitoring, fuel tank size and canopy color can be specified to suit the site. Every set is tested with a load bank before packing.

Choosing between sizes

The 10 kVA rating is the entry point of our diesel range and is sized for one building: a home, a clinic, a shop or a small server room. At a 0.8 power factor it delivers about 8 kW, which covers lighting, refrigeration, a few air conditioners and a water pump, but not a workshop with large motors. Motor loads draw several times their running current at start-up, so a 3 kW pump often needs more headroom than its label suggests.

Compared with our 20 kVA set at 380 V, this unit is the one to choose when the load is mostly single phase and when quiet running and automatic changeover matter more than output. Compared with the 50 kVA portable set, it has no wheel kit as standard, a smaller fuel tank and a much lower fuel burn, which suits long standby periods with short runs. For a bigger load, or if your load list approaches 8 kW continuous, step up to the 20 kVA or 50 kVA sets rather than running this one at its limit. If your load is smaller, think carefully: a generator running at very low load wastes fuel and can wet-stack, so size the set to the real load.
