3D Camera Wheel Alignment System

A wheel alignment system that measures with 3D cameras and passive wheel targets, for tire shops and repair workshops handling cars and light commercial vehicles.

  • Options for ADAS and camera relocation

Overview

How it works

Two or more cameras view targets that are clipped on the wheels. The targets are passive, which means they carry no electronics and no cables. The software calculates the position of each wheel from the image of its target, and it shows camber, toe, caster and related angles on screen. It then guides the operator step by step through the adjustment.

Why 3D measurement

Compared with older sensor systems, a 3D system sets up faster because the heads do not need to be leveled and connected. There are fewer parts that can be damaged, and the targets are easy to replace. The result is more vehicles per day and fewer measurement mistakes by the operator.

What you need in the bay

Alignment needs a level surface or a lift made for it, enough room for the cameras and targets, and a vehicle database that matches the cars you service. The cameras can be fixed to a stand or fitted to a column, depending on the bay layout. We check the lift type and the clear height before we quote.

Build options

  • Lift or alignment pit type and size
  • Camera position: stand, column or relocation kit
  • Vehicle database region and language
  • Computer cabinet and printer
  • Accessories for ADAS calibration
  • Local mains supply

Power

The system runs from a single-phase supply of 115 to 230 V AC, 50 or 60 Hz. The plug follows the standard in your country.

Training

We provide operator instructions and calibration guidance with the system.

Delivery

The system is delivered with cameras, targets, the computer cabinet and software. We send installation instructions so that your team can set it up in the bay and calibrate it.

Maintenance and calibration

A 3D system has fewer moving parts than older sensor-head systems, so day-to-day care is mostly about keeping the targets clean and the cameras clear. Wipe target faces with a soft cloth; dirt or scratches reduce measurement quality. Do not drop clamps or targets, and store them on their rack when not in use.

Accuracy depends on a stable bay as much as on the cameras. A level rack, turnplates that rotate freely and a floor that does not move under load are all part of getting repeatable results. Check rack level and turnplate condition at regular intervals, and repeat the camera calibration routine whenever the cameras are moved or the system has been knocked.

Software and vehicle data need updates over time; plan for that when choosing the computer and connection. Keep a set of spare clamp jaws and rubber pads, as they wear fastest.

Frequently asked questions

Is a lift required?

An alignment lift or a level pit is normal for this work. The fit with your existing lift or pit is checked before ordering.

Does it work on light commercial vehicles?

It is meant for cars and light commercial vehicles. Check the wheel and vehicle sizes you work on against the system's range.

Can I add ADAS calibration later?

Accessories can be added, but the bay needs space and a level floor. Plan for it early so the layout leaves room.

How often should the system be calibrated?

Follow the interval we give in the manual, and calibrate again after moving the cameras, replacing parts or any impact on the beam. A quick check against a known reference vehicle can also show drift.
