Overview

How the tank is made

These tanks are produced by rotational molding. Polyethylene powder is heated in a rotating mold until it fuses into a single hollow shell, with no welded seams in the wall. The result is a smooth, uniform tank that is light compared with steel and does not rust.

Size range

The series runs from about 1 ton to about 30 tons nominal. For reference, one listed size in the range has a base diameter of 2,220 mm and an overall height of 3,110 mm. Because the nominal tonnage is not the same thing as usable volume, the exact liters and usable level are stated per size before ordering.

Where it is used

Vertical tanks take little ground space for the volume they hold, which is useful on crowded building plots and factory yards. They are common as break tanks for building water supply, farm and irrigation reserves, and utility water in plants.

Drinking water and chemicals

What the tank holds decides which resin and wall design you need. If it stores potable water, the hygiene approval your market requires decides the resin and documents. For chemicals, the substance and concentration decide compatibility. We do not claim food-grade or chemical resistance without that match.

Fittings and installation

Inlet, outlet, overflow and drain positions are agreed per order. The tank needs a flat, firm base that supports the full filled weight.

Options and configuration

  • Capacity and usable volume
  • Fitting sizes and positions
  • Color and opacity
  • Indoor or outdoor placement

Care and cleaning

A smooth inner wall is easy to rinse. Plan a manhole or lid large enough for a person to reach the bottom if you will clean the tank by hand, and keep direct sun off the tank if algae growth is a concern.

Compared with panel tanks

A rotomolded tank is made in one piece, with no joints that can leak. That makes it the simplest tank to install: set it on a flat pad, connect the pipes and fill it. It does not need a crew to assemble panels, and cleaning is easy, because the inside is smooth.

The limit is the size that fits on a truck or in a container. Beyond roughly 30 tons, a bolted tank of stainless steel or glass-fiber plastic panels becomes the practical choice, since the panels fit in a small container and are put together on site. Choose stainless panels when hygiene, heat or a long service life are the priority, and glass-fiber panels when you need light weight and low corrosion risk. For most homes, farms, schools and small factories, a single PE tank, or two side by side, is the lowest-cost and fastest answer. For drinking water, choose a light-blocking color to limit algae growth.

Frequently asked questions

Can the tank hold drinking water?

Yes, with the right resin. The hygiene approval your market needs decides the resin and paperwork, which are settled before quoting.

Can it be buried underground?

We do not recommend burying this vertical design. Ask about your planned installation and the right tank type is advised.

How are the tanks shipped?

Large tanks are loaded to use container space, with smaller tanks nested where possible. We plan the load per size.

How do I stop algae in the tank?

Keep sunlight out. Use a black or dark outer layer or place the tank in shade, and fit a screened vent. Clean the inside once or twice a year.
