Overview

Built from panels

A sectional tank arrives as stacks of flat stainless steel panels, bolts and sealing gaskets. Crews bolt them together on site, so the tank can be carried through a doorway, lifted onto a roof or set inside a basement room where a one-piece tank could never go.

Materials

We offer panels in SS304 with a 2B finish, or in SS316 / 316L when the water or the air around the tank is more aggressive. Seals are EPDM gaskets between the panel flanges. Panels come in four sizes, from 0.5 x 0.5 m up to 1.22 x 1.22 m, and we combine them to match your footprint. Tanks can be built up to 5 m high; thicker plate is used at the lower courses as the water head grows.

Capacity is a project decision

There is no fixed model. Volume depends on the length, width and height you can use. We prepare a layout drawing and a panel schedule from your space, and your structural engineer checks the base and any supports. We do not assume a design level or foundation for you.

Where it is used

  • Water reserve in apartments, hotels and hospitals
  • Fire water and process water in factories
  • Rooftop tanks with limited access

Drinking water

If the tank will hold potable water, your approval requirements decide the material documents and sealing materials.

Configuration options

  • Length, width and height of the tank
  • Material grade and plate thickness
  • Inlet, outlet, overflow, vent and manhole positions
  • Internal ladder and level indicator needs

Maintenance

Gaskets and bolts are the parts to check during routine inspection. We can include spare gasket strips with the shipment, and we explain the tightening order so the joints seal evenly.

Compared with PE and GRP tanks

Stainless steel panels give you a tank that is strong, hygienic and long-lived. It costs more per cubic meter than a plastic tank, but it handles hot water, tall installations and heavy use best, and its smooth walls are easy to wash. That is why it is the usual choice for food plants, hotels, hospitals and industrial parks.

The rotomolded PE tank on our other page is cheaper for small volumes, but is limited by transport size. The glass-fiber tank is lighter and has no corrosion issue in poor water, but the surface is not as hard and it needs more care around heat. Between SS304 and SS316, choose 316 where the water holds chlorides, such as coastal or brackish supplies, or where strong disinfectants are used. Volume, height limit and water type decide the panel layout.

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply the foundation?

No. We provide the drawing with load information; your civil contractor builds the base and your engineer checks it.

Can the tank be extended later?

A panel tank can often be extended, but this must be planned at design stage. State up front if growth is expected.

Is on-site assembly support available?

Assembly steps and tools are advised for your site conditions, and support arrangements are stated in the quote.

What is the height limit?

Panels stack up to 5 m in height. Taller tanks need internal tie rods and a stronger base, and we design them to your site loading.
