Overview
What soil stabilization does
Weak or wet soil can be strengthened by mixing in lime or cement. The soil, the binder and water are blended in place, then compacted. This avoids hauling in imported fill and gives a firmer road base or track for much less cost than full replacement.
The machine
A box-type mixing chamber houses a rotor with alloy bullet-blade teeth. The rotor works from 0 to 400 mm deep and covers a width between 1,000 and 2,200 mm. The machine hangs on a standard three-point hitch and is driven from the tractor PTO at 540 to 1,000 r/min.
Tractor match
It is described for a 50 HP class tractor and weighs 1,000 kg. Heavier tractors suit wider settings and deeper mixing in hard soil; the tractor you use sets the working width it can drive.
Work rate
A work rate of 6,500 to 7,500 m per shift is quoted for linear road work; the actual rate depends on working width and depth.
On the job
Spread the lime or cement evenly on the surface first, then make the mixing pass at the set depth, add water, and compact. Wear to the bullet blades depends on the soil, so inspect them often and carry spares. Dust control and operator safety rules apply when working with cement or lime, and we advise on both.
Specification
A specification sheet is approved before any order is placed, so that what we build matches what you expect.
How to size a soil stabilizer mixer
This is an implement, not a tractor. It needs a tractor of about 50 HP or more, a PTO of 540–1,000 r/min and a three-point hitch to mix lime or cement into soil down to 400 mm. Widths of 1,000–2,200 mm let you match lane width to the tractor and the road base you are building.
Compare it with our rotary tillers, which are designed for seedbeds and run at much higher tine speed. A stabilizer mixer is slower, heavier at about 1,000 kg and built for abrasive soil. It is the better choice for farm tracks, small roads, platforms and drying yards that need a firm base.
When you order, check the tractor lift capacity because the mixer is heavy, and check the PTO speed. Wear parts are the blades, so plan spares if you work in stony or cemented soil. Tractor model, soil type and binder content decide the width and depth setting.

Frequently asked questions
Which tractor drives it?
A tractor of about 50 HP class with a three-point hitch and PTO is the stated match.
Can it mix cement as well as lime?
Yes, both lime and cement are stated binders.
How deep does it mix?
Up to 400 mm.
What tractor do I need to run this mixer?
The stated match is about 50 HP with a three-point hitch and a 540–1,000 r/min PTO. Check your tractor lift capacity against the 1,000 kg implement weight.
