Overview

Weeding first

Perennial grass roots return unless they are pulled or cut up. This machine is built for that: rotary blades chop soil and tear out grass roots, and the same pass loosens the soil. In orchards it means less hand hoeing and less use of herbicide.

Engine and drive

A 170 or 177 gasoline engine drives the rotary shaft, and the machine runs on four driven wheels, for steadier travel across uneven ground. The 130 kg weight helps the tines bite, while the 120 x 70 x 90 cm frame is compact enough for a greenhouse aisle.

Width choice

Pick a 50 cm width for tight rows and a 60 cm width for open orchard floors. A narrower machine gets closer to trees and plants; a wider one covers more ground per pass.

Fuel, oil and storage

Use clean gasoline and check engine oil before every shift. Wash the blades after use, since wet soil and roots cause rust and imbalance. Sharpen or replace worn blades so that roots are cut rather than dragged. Drain the fuel before long storage to keep the carburetor clean.

Adapting to your market

Details such as color, accessories and spare-parts packages can be adjusted to your market and local conditions.

Compared with other tillers in the cultivator group

This is the tiller for weeding between rows and removing grass roots. Its narrow width suits orchard rows, greenhouse paths and vegetable beds, where a wider machine cannot pass between plants, and it loosens the soil in the same pass.

The 9 HP power tiller (MM-PT9A) is lighter and cheaper but has two wheels and a basic tine set. The chain-rail mini tiller (MM-CRT9A) uses tracks to gain depth and traction on slopes, suits narrow crop rows with sowing and fertilizing, and offers gasoline or diesel power. The diesel two-wheel tractor tiller (MM-DRT35A), at 8-35 HP, is a larger machine for paddy and dry fields.

Choose this model if you work between rows and need steady grip and low vibration. The 170 or 177 engine limits depth and power for heavy clay, so soil and row spacing matter before ordering. Tine type can be chosen for weeding versus deeper tillage.

Frequently asked questions

Is it petrol only?

The listed engines are gasoline engines, 170 or 177 type.

Can it clear grass roots?

Yes, grass root removal is a stated function.

Which width should I pick?

Pick by the narrowest aisle you will work in. The narrowest aisle sets the width.

Which cutting width should I choose?

Measure the clear gap between your plant rows or the width of the greenhouse path. A 50 cm machine fits narrower rows, a 60 cm machine covers more per pass in open beds.
