Overview

Oxygen where it is used

Many hospitals depend on delivered cylinders or liquid oxygen, which can be hard to secure in remote regions. A PSA generator makes oxygen on site from compressed air. Air passes through adsorbent towers that capture nitrogen, leaving oxygen-rich gas to be stored and piped to wards, theaters and intensive care areas.

Twin-tower design

Two towers work in alternation: one produces oxygen while the other is regenerated, which gives a continuous flow. A control cabinet manages the switching, and sensors monitor flow and oxygen concentration. This arrangement is robust and well understood.

A system, not just a generator

A medical oxygen plant also needs clean compressed air, an oxygen receiver, an analyzer, alarms, and a reserve supply in case the generator stops. Piping and outlets inside the hospital are part of the wider design. We plan the plant as a whole and list each item in the proposal.

Sizing and formats

Series capacity runs from 1.8 to 433.40 m³/h, but that range covers many models. We size the plant from the number of beds, ventilator and theater demand, and growth plans. For quick deployment, we can supply the equipment on a frame or inside a container.

Medical compliance

Oxygen for medical use must meet the quality and safety requirements of the country where it is used. Confirm the applicable standards with your health authority. Documentation and approvals are discussed per project, and designs must be reviewed by qualified medical gas engineers.

Support

Our team supports installation, commissioning, operator training and spare parts supply.

Proposal contents

Each project comes with a written scope, drawings or a specification, and a clear list of what is and is not included. Shipping, spare parts and installation are covered in the same document.

Sizing a hospital oxygen plant

A medical PSA oxygen generator makes oxygen from air at the hospital itself, which reduces dependence on delivered cylinders. The series spans 1.8 to 433.40 m³ per hour, and comes as a stand-alone unit, a frame-mounted skid or a containerized plant.

To size the plant, count the beds, the share of ventilated patients and the peak demand, then add a margin. A small clinic needs a unit of a few cubic meters an hour, while a large hospital needs hundreds. A backup source, such as a cylinder manifold, keeps oxygen flowing during maintenance.

The containerized version arrives ready to connect, which suits remote hospitals and fast installation. Compared with our industrial oxygen generator, this one has analyzers and alarms for patient supply.

Frequently asked questions

Can the generator be delivered in a container?

Yes, a containerized plant is one of the available formats, which shortens site work.

Do I still need backup oxygen?

A reserve supply is strongly recommended, such as a manifold of cylinders. We include backup planning in the system design.

Does the system meet medical regulations?

Requirements differ by country. Documentation is discussed against your applicable standard, with final compliance reviewed by your qualified engineers and authority.

What happens if the power fails?

A backup cylinder manifold or a generator set keeps oxygen flowing. We usually include an alarm that tells staff the source has changed.
