Overview
How it works
A vertical water-tube steam generator holds only a small volume of water in coiled tubes around the burner. Heat passes straight into the tube and steam is raised quickly, which is why this design suits plants that use steam in short or varying bursts. Because the water content is small, the unit starts faster than a large shell boiler and takes less floor space.
Sizing
Our series covers steam outputs from 80 to 400 kg/h in several steps. Choose the size from your peak steam use, not the average, and note how the demand changes during a shift. Where one unit is not enough, several can be linked and controlled together so that they switch on and off as demand rises and falls.
Where it is used
Small production lines, commercial laundries, cleaning and sterilizing stations, food plants and pharmaceutical process rooms. The final operating pressure and the steam quality you need are fixed in the project design.
What can be specified
- Fuel: natural gas, LPG or oil, and the burner type
- Required steam output and working pressure
- Feedwater quality, softener and deaerator needs
- Blowdown, flue arrangement and heat recovery
- Controls, alarms and connection to your plant
Local rules
Boiler classification, inspection, water quality, chimney requirements and operator rules differ by country. Your project engineer should check what applies at your site, and the drawings and data needed for that review are supplied. The steam output, fuel and pressure of the exact unit we quote are stated in our offer.
Installation notes
We send a plant-room layout drawing with the offer, showing connections for fuel, feedwater, steam outlet and flue, so your engineer and installer can prepare the room before the unit arrives.
Where it fits among steam sources
A compact vertical generator is the right tool when you need steam fast and in modest quantity: laundries, small food lines, hotels, dye houses, curing chambers and hospitals. The coil holds little water, so it reaches steam in minutes and cycles on and off with the load. That is its main strength compared with a large shell boiler, which holds a big volume of water and takes longer to warm.
For steady loads above the top of this series, a larger boiler usually has lower running cost per ton of steam. Between the two, many customers install two or three small units and let the controller bring them in as demand rises. This also gives a backup when one needs service. Fuel choice depends on local prices: gas is cleanest and easiest to control, light oil needs a day tank and regular nozzle care. Check your local pressure vessel rules before you order.

Frequently asked questions
Does it need a separate feedwater system?
Yes. Water quality matters for tube life. We can supply the feedwater tank, pump, softener and treatment, or match your existing equipment.
Can several units run together?
Yes. Units can be arranged as a group that shares the load, which also keeps steam available if one unit is serviced.
Which approvals apply to my site?
That depends on your country and the pressure class. Your project engineer should check the local boiler rules, and technical documents are provided for the review.
How often does the generator need descaling?
It depends on feedwater. With a softener and regular blowdown, a yearly inspection and chemical clean is usual. Without softening, scale builds quickly in the coil and efficiency drops.
