Chips and dried slices weigh little but fill a lot of space. A 100 g bag of chips is a large bag, and the product is fragile. That makes the machine’s handling more important than the raw speed: the product must drop gently, the weigher must not crush it and the bag must be sealed without trapping pieces in the seam.

Weighing

For snacks like these, the machine is paired with a multi-head weigher that fills each bag to the target weight. A nitrogen flush unit can be added to extend shelf life of fried products, and we quote it if you need it.

Specifications

It forms, fills and seals pouches and bags, at up to 80 bags per minute for the smaller sizes, and up to 10 kg per bag at the other end of the range. The frame weighs 1200 kg and the supply is 220 V.

How it differs from the cheese packer

This model has the same machine base as our granule and cheese packer, but the setup and the application differ. It is configured for fragile, bulky snacks with weigher, gentle chute and optional gas flush, where the cheese model is configured for sticky, heavy product.

Pair it with the chip line on our site: fryer, seasoning drum, weigher, this bagger and a case packer. It suits snack plants that want one reliable packing station at the end of the line.

Packing fragile snacks

This machine weighs, forms, fills and seals bags of snack chips, ginger and similar granule products, up to 80 bags a minute and 10 kg. It weighs about 1,200 kg, with its weighing platform.

It shares its basic speed and size range with our granule pouch machine, but the application is different. Chips are light, brittle and bulky, so they need a gentle feed, a large bag with a nitrogen flush and a film with a barrier against moisture and oxygen. Cheese granules are heavy and fall faster, but they stick and need a smooth surface. The vertical pouch machine is for lower-cost packing with a volumetric cup.

Choose a multihead weigher when giveaway cost matters, since accurate weight saves product on every bag. Product, bag size and film set the weigher bucket size and fall height.
