Overview

Why an auger filler

Powders pack and flow unlike grains. Some are light and dusty, others cake and bridge. An auger, or screw filler, pushes a measured volume of powder out of a hopper into the bag. By counting the turns of the screw, the machine meters a repeatable amount. This model uses that method.

Bag size and shape

The packing range is 500 to 5000 g, so it fills kilogram-size and larger bags rather than small sachets. The bags are back-sealing pillow bags, with a seam on the back and a seal at top and bottom. That is the common style for flour, detergent and other household powders.

Build

The machine is 1300 x 950 x 2500 mm and weighs 450 kg. The height means you need a ceiling clearance of at least 2.5 m, plus room for the hopper loading. The electrical set is matched to your supply.

How it differs from our other vertical machines

Our other vertical machines fill granules and snacks from a weigher. This one meters powders with an auger, and it is aimed at larger bag weights. Fine, dusty products may need a dust hood or an extraction point, which are specified in the quotation.

Heavy bags of powder

This vertical machine fills 500 to 5,000 g of powder per bag with an auger. The auger turns a set number of times for each dose, so accuracy depends on how steadily the powder flows. It forms a back-sealed pillow bag, weighs about 450 kg and stands 2,500 mm high.

The servo auger powder machine in our range is faster, with a speed of 15 to 70 bags per minute, and suits small packs of milk powder and coffee. This one is for the bigger sizes, such as flour, detergent and spices in kilogram bags. The stick pack machine serves single servings. The granule and snack machines weigh product rather than meter it by volume.

Fine powders trap air and fill unevenly. A slower auger speed and a vibrating hopper help.
