Overview

Large standby and prime power

A 500 kVA set is the size for a plant or a large building. Water cooling, a 24 V electric start and automatic voltage regulation are fitted. It is intended for continuous commercial use, for example as the main supply where the grid is weak.

Voltage and frequency

The table of voltages runs from 220 V to 440 V, so the same model serves most export markets. It runs at 1500 RPM for 50 Hz and 1800 RPM for 60 Hz. Three phase, four wire is the standard output.

Housing options

Choose from trailer, silent, super silent, open frame or container type. A container housing is popular for projects because it protects the set outdoors, carries lighting and can be moved with a crane. The color and your logo can be applied to order.

Engine and alternator

Engine and alternator models are chosen for a service network in the destination country. Choose carefully: in remote areas, spare parts availability matters as much as rated power.

Why choose it

Pick it when your load is large, you need long running hours, and noise matters. If your load is smaller, our 180 kVA mobile set or 250 kVA range might be a better fit.

Options

Voltage, frequency, housing type, duty class and parallel operation with other sets can be specified. The set is tested under load in our factory before shipment.

When 500 kVA is the right step up

The 500 kVA set is the largest in this group and the one where site planning becomes as important as the machine. A set of this size is moved by crane or heavy forklift, needs a flat plinth, an exhaust route, ventilation for the radiator and an access path for service. Next to the 180 kVA trailer set, it is intended to stay in one place, whether that is a factory, a mall, a hospital or a large construction site.

Where smaller sets are usually bought singly, 500 kVA sets are often paired: two units in parallel give redundancy and let one machine be serviced while the other carries the load. The three-phase four-wire output suits standard commercial distribution boards. Because ambient temperature affects output, we ask for site altitude and maximum temperature; at high altitude or in hot climates the engine may need derating. A container housing is normally chosen when the set will stand outdoors without a building.
