Overview

What these molds do

In a block-making line the mold decides the shape, size and surface of every unit the machine produces. Our molds are built for vibration-press machines: concrete is fed into the cavities, the press head compacts it against the bottom mold, and the finished units are pushed out onto the pallet. The mold is a wear part, so it is designed to be changed and replaced during the life of the line.

Built around your machine

There is no universal mold. Each set is designed around the working table, the press head and the fixing points of the machine it will run on, and around the product you want to make. A mold made for one machine cannot be assumed to fit another, even if the brick shape is the same. For that reason we ask for the machine model and its interface dimensions before we quote.

Choosing a configuration

  • Product type: interlocking paving brick, solid block, hollow block or curb stone
  • Cavity count per pallet and the layout of the cavities
  • Core and hole pattern for hollow units
  • Top plate (press shoe) and bottom mold design
  • Steel grade and heat treatment for the wear surfaces

Where it is used

Block yards, precast workshops, contractors who make their own paving and wall units, and plants that already own a block machine and need a new shape or a replacement set. If you plan to buy a complete block line from us, the mold can be matched to the machine from the start.

Before you order

Send a drawing or sample of the brick, the model of your machine and the dimensions of its mold frame. We will check the fit, propose a cavity layout and give you a quotation. Pictures of molds on this page show the type of tooling and its shape categories; they are not a promise that one mold fits every machine.

How to specify the right mold

Because every mold is built around a machine and a product, the choice is driven by three inputs. First, the table size and mounting pattern of your block machine: this sets how many cavities fit. Second, the product: a thin interlocking paver and a hollow block with large cores load the mold very differently, and the core layout decides wall strength and weight. Third, the production mix: dry, sharp aggregate wears liners faster than rounded stone, so the steel and hardening are chosen for your material. More cavities raise output per cycle but also increase the demand on vibration and press force. A smaller, simpler mold may be the better choice for a machine that is already at its limit.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a mold for a machine you did not supply?

Yes, if we have the machine model and the dimensions of its table, press head and fixing points. We check the fit before we quote.

Can one mold be used on different machines?

Not by default. Mold frames and press heads differ between machines, so each set is designed for one interface.

How do you ship molds?

Molds are heavy steel parts, so we pack them on pallets or in wooden cases and load them with the rest of your order. They can also be loaded in a container with other equipment.

How do I know when a mold is worn out?

Typical signs are blocks that vary in height or width, rounded edges, and faces that tear or stick. Measure a few blocks against the drawing each week; when liners drift beyond your tolerance, replace the liner set rather than the whole frame.
