At 2840 × 1650 × 1340 mm and 550 kg, this camper is made for pickups that cannot carry a full-height unit. The roof folds as a pop-up canopy, so the camper travels low and opens up at camp. That keeps wind resistance and fuel use down on the road.

Inside

The floor is wood, and the kitchen has two stoves and a sink. Sleeping capacity is two to four persons. The curb weight is 550 kg.

Our aluminum slide-in camper has a fixed roof and more customization. This model trades headroom for light weight and a lower stance.

Test fit matters with small campers. The width between your wheel arches, the bed length with tailgate closed and the cab roof height decide whether the camper sits properly and the folded roof clears the cab. Mounting system, floor plan, color and silk-screen graphics are set with the order. This is a slide-in unit, not a trailer.

The compact camper for mid-size pickups

At 2840 mm long and 550 kg, this is our smallest and lightest truck camper, and the only one with a pop-up folding canopy. Closed, the camper sits low on the truck, which keeps fuel use, wind noise and road height in check. Opened, it gives standing room and two to four sleeping places, with a two-stove kitchen and a sink.

Compared with the aluminum slide-in camper, which is a fixed-height box that can be customized more, this model trades some headroom for a lower profile. Compared with the fiberglass bunk-bed camper, it is much lighter and smaller, designed for trucks that cannot carry a large payload. The foldable roof does need care: keep the canvas and seals dry before folding and check the gas struts every year. Ensure your truck bed is wide enough between the wheel arches for the 1650 mm width. It is a good choice if you want camping capability on a mid-size pickup that remains an everyday vehicle.
