Overview
More beds for a family
This truck camper is the one to look at when two sleeping spaces are not enough. It sleeps up to four, with bunk beds. The fiberglass shell is waterproof and expandable, and digital printing lets you apply any graphics.
Cooking and floor
The slide-out kitchen is stainless steel 304 with two stoves and a sink, so a family can cook outdoors without moving fixtures around. The floor is vinyl in an optional color, easy to clean after muddy trips.
Payload and truck match
Stated payload is 1562 kg, much higher than our aluminum slide-in camper (450–550 kg). That does not mean any pickup can carry it. Truck rating, suspension and axle load must cover camper weight, water, gas, people and gear. The truck’s data decides the match.
Mounted or towed
This camper can be built as a pickup-mounted unit or as a modular travel trailer home on a trailer chassis.
Business use
A camper like this is often used as a business asset, for example by tour operators and field survey teams. The number of units, the branding printed on the shell and the trip length decide a layout that keeps the bunks, kitchen and storage in balance.
Bunk-bed camper versus the aluminum slide-ins
With a 1,562 kg stated payload and bunk beds, this is the family and crew version of our truck campers. The aluminum slide-in sleeps two to four on a more flexible plan, but the bunk layout gives children and crew their own berths. The fiberglass shell is strong and quiet, and holds heat better than bare aluminum.
Compared with the 2840 mm foldable camper, which is a compact, pop-up design for mid-size pickups, this one is a full-height box that fits larger trucks. Its weight is greater, so match it to a truck with enough payload and a strong rear axle. It is offered both as a truck camper and as a modular travel-trailer home, so choose whether it is mounted on your pickup or set up on a trailer chassis. Do not exceed your truck’s payload rating when the camper is loaded with water, gear and people. A set of airbags or upgraded springs helps keep the truck level on rough roads.
