Overview

Built for low headroom

The vehicle body is 4,450 mm long, 1,650 mm wide and only 1,450 mm high, and 1,920 mm with the safety shed fitted. That low profile lets it work where a standard site dumper cannot. The cargo box is 2,700 mm long and 620 mm deep and holds 2.4 m³, which keeps the load center low and stable in the tunnel.

Power and traction

A 48 kW diesel engine drives all four wheels. The stated gradeability is 14°, enough for typical ramps and inclines between levels. The machine weighs 5,000 kg and carries 5,000 kg, so the payload is equal to its own weight, which is a practical balance for a machine that must turn in a narrow drift.

Underground safety is a local matter

Diesel machines underground are controlled by local mining regulations: exhaust treatment, fire suppression, lighting and operator protection requirements differ by country and mine. We do not assume any particular approval. Local regulations and ventilation conditions decide what the machine can be equipped with.

Where it sits in our dumper range

For open sites with no height limit, our 6 t forward-tilt dumper carries more. For underground work, this model gives up volume and gains a low silhouette and a protective canopy. Our 6–8 t heavy site dumper is the larger tunnel option when your drift size allows it.

Why this dumper is not a site dumper

Tunnel dumpers share an engine and a tipping body with site dumpers, but the design priorities are different. This unit is only 1,450 mm tall (1,920 mm with the safety shed) and 1,650 mm wide, so it fits low roadways and tunnels where a standard site dumper cannot. It is also built with 4×4 traction for grades up to 14° and a body that sits low for easy loading from side and rear. Our 6 ton and 8 ton site dumpers are taller and wider and carry more, but they are meant for open work. Choose this one for underground work. Low roadways also call for good lighting, a reversing alarm and clear marking on the body, so check these before it goes underground.
