Overview

Mid-size rig for 200 m wells

This rig covers the most common water well job: a hole of 100 to 325 mm drilled to as much as 200 m. A diesel engine of 37 kW drives the hydraulic system, so no mains supply is needed. Rotary torque of 4,000 to 5,000 N·m and a lifting force of 14 t allow it to turn and pull a long drill string through sand, clay and softer rock.

Drill string and stroke

It uses drill pipe in three sizes, 60, 76 and 89 mm, each 2 m long. The maximum feed stroke is 2.4 m, which means each pipe addition is a short, quick operation. A crew that handles pipes by hand will find the 2 m length easy to carry and store.

Weight and carrier

The rig weighs 18,000 kg, much more than the rigs of similar depth in our range, so transport weight and carrier configuration shape the setup. Truck or trailer mounting, and the road limits on your route, depend on it.

Compared with our other 200 m and 300 m rigs

Our rigs differ more in how they are driven and set up than in depth. This 37 kW diesel hydraulic rig has a 14 t lifting force and 4,000–5,000 N·m torque, and a hole range of 100–325 mm, which makes it a general-purpose water well rig for mixed soil and soft rock. Our core drilling rig is lighter and made for sampling; it does not give you the same diameter range. Our 300 m top-drive and 300 m wheeled rigs go deeper and are better when your aquifer is deep. Choose this one for wells to 200 m where one rig has to drill, case and develop several holes a month. If the ground is hard rock, add a DTH hammer and compressor.
