Overview

For users who burn a lot of gas

The 45 kg cylinder is the large size in an LPG range. A hotel kitchen, a laundry or a small food plant can run for a long time on one cylinder, which means fewer exchanges and less handling downtime.

Construction

It is a steel cylinder for liquefied petroleum gas at low pressure. Because the cylinder is heavy once filled, we pay attention to the foot ring and, where needed, a valve guard, so that it stands firm and the valve is protected during transport.

Standard, valve and size

Water capacity, height and wall thickness differ by standard, so they are set in a drawing issued for approval. The drawing follows:

  • The standard and test pressure your country requires
  • The valve connection
  • Any height limit from your vehicles, racks or filling line

Handling advice

A filled 45 kg cylinder is not a one-hand item. Many buyers move them with a trolley or a truck lift, and the foot ring and guard style can be chosen to suit that handling.

Where it is used

  • Commercial kitchens and catering sites
  • Workshops that use gas for heating or cutting
  • Distributors serving business accounts

Shipping

Cylinders ship empty. The container load is planned to protect valves and to stay within weight limits at the port.

Before you order

If you already refill another 45 kg cylinder, its drawing or a photograph of the valve end is enough to match the neck thread and foot ring, so the new cylinders work with your trolleys and filling heads.

When to move up to a 45 kg cylinder

The 45 kg cylinder is for people who burn gas by the hour, not by the week: hotels, restaurant kitchens, laundries, food factories and workshops that cut or heat with LPG. At this weight, a full cylinder is too heavy to lift, so it is rolled or moved by trolley, and the base ring and guard matter more than on smaller sizes.

Next to our 15 kg cylinder, it reduces delivery trips and exchange labor; next to the 12.5 kg size, it is a different product for a different customer. A single cylinder can only vaporize so much gas in cold weather, since vaporization depends on the wetted surface area and the ambient temperature. For high continuous demand we recommend a manifold of two or more cylinders, or a bulk tank. Filling ratio, wall thickness and test pressure follow the standard of your market and are set before production.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get the water capacity and dimensions?

They are set in the drawing issued once your standard and valve are known, so that the cylinder matches your regulations.

Are valve guards available?

Yes. Foot ring and valve guard styles are selected at the specification stage.

Do you ship the cylinders empty?

Yes, empty and ready for filling.

Can one 45 kg cylinder supply a restaurant kitchen?

For light cooking, often yes, but heavy continuous burners can cool the cylinder and reduce gas flow. Many sites use two cylinders on a manifold for steady supply and quick changeover.
