Overview

The entry-level skid steer

This is the lightest loader in our skid steer group. The 380 kg class makes it a good fit for people who find a bigger machine too heavy and too costly: smallholders, nurseries, gardeners and small contractors. A 13.5 HP engine turns at 3,600 rpm, and several engine ratings from 7.5 to 20 kW are offered.

Reach and bucket

The bucket holds 0.3 m³. The loader arm lifts to a pin height of 1,951 mm and a working height of 2,504 mm, which is enough to load a small trailer or a feed hopper. The bucket dumps at an angle of 53°, so sticky material like wet soil or manure slides out cleanly.

Where it stands among the loaders

If you want a heavier loader with a tracked chassis, see our 900 kg mini crawler loaders. If you want the same size with a diesel-only 4×4 drive and optional attachments, see our 17.2 kW wheeled model. This one is the lowest-cost route into a skid steer for light work.

The entry-level wheeled skid steer

This is the simplest and lowest-cost loader in our skid steer group. It has wheels, one engine option of 13.5 HP (with a choice of diesel or gasoline) and a single bucket, and it leaves out the tracks, the multiple engine ratings and the heavy-duty hydraulics of the bigger models. The listed 0.3 m³ bucket is large for a 380 kg class machine, so most buyers use a smaller bucket for dense material. Compared with the 375 kg multi-function loader, it has fixed wheels and no track option. Compared with the 17.2 kW 4×4 wheeled model, it has less power and no four-wheel drive. Choose it for yards, gardens, light farm work and small deliveries on firm ground. For soft ground or attachments that need flow, choose a tracked or more powerful loader.
