Overview

The largest on this page

Of the mini excavators we list here, this is the deepest and longest reaching. It digs to 2,050 mm, reaches 3,860 mm, and its maximum digging height is 3,300 mm. The 18.2 kW power and the 1,952 kg weight give it the stability to lift and dig with more force than the 1 t machines.

Where the extra size helps

Pipe trenches, soak-away pits, drains and small foundations are all within reach. With a 0.08 m³ bucket, the cycle is quick in loose soil, and the long arm lets you load a truck standing to one side. The rated speed is 0 to 2 km/h, which is slow but adequate for work in one place.

Power system

The machine is driven by a three-cylinder engine, typically diesel. Battery and fuel details depend on the version you choose. The hydraulic pump, valve and cylinder are of other makes.

Choosing between sizes

For indoor or low-noise work, choose one of our smaller electric excavators. For deeper trenches and heavier loads, this 2.5 t class is the right step. Beyond this size, ask us about standard compact excavators. Whichever machine you choose, check the weight and width against the trailer or truck you will use to move it.

When to step up to 2.5 t

Moving from a 1 t to a 2.5 t machine is the biggest change in this group. With 18.2 kW, a dig depth of 2,050 mm and a reach of 3,860 mm, this is the one that can dig a house foundation, lay a service line at a proper depth, and load a small truck. The extra weight helps stability when a breaker is fitted, and the three-cylinder diesel runs a full day on one tank. The cost is size: it needs wider access, a bigger trailer and more fuel. The 1 t models still win in gardens, indoors and where noise is a problem. Choose this one when you work on small construction sites, road repair and landscaping and want a hydraulic flow high enough for breakers and augers. For all-day heavy digging, move up to the 3 to 5 t class.

Frequently asked questions

Is it electric or diesel?

It has a three-cylinder engine, typically diesel. The power version is chosen when you order.

Can it load a truck?

Its 3,300 mm height allows loading small trucks. Check the truck height.

What attachments are available?

Bucket and breaker options are available.

Can it load a truck?

Yes. With a dig height of about 3.3 m it can load a small tipper or pickup, though a 3 to 5 t machine does it faster.
